Barf Bags and Cannibal Ferox grooves
This Deep Red barf bag was a promo for Chas. Balun's Deep Red magazine. I FUCKING LOVED this magazine. Chas was my Forrest J. Ackerman of splatter. His Deep Red Horror Handbook warped me at the perfect age. Stephen Bissette's "The Third World Cannibal Films" chapter and Balun's "I Spit in Your Face: Films That Bite" made me track down and devour a whole lot of the films discussed. As a pimply faced teen I met Chas at a horror convention and he was bursting with enthusiasm about the genre. Around the same time I met Mr Bissette through my father. Steve gave me VHS copies, hot off the Japanese laserdiscs, of Argento's "Opera" and Fulci's uncut, letterboxed "The Beyond" along with copies of his "Taboo" comics. It was an act of kindness that I try to "pay back" to other film fans to this day. Thank you gentlemen.
Here we have the barf bag and vinyl single that was included in the Grindhouse laserdisc release of "Cannibal Ferox"
Dario Argento's "Trauma" presskit part 2
VHS Sales Flyer for "Hard Boiled" from 1994!
Oh how things have change. This is back when VHS distributors had to convince thousands of independent video store managers to buy their product for rental. I assure you that many of these managers were not well versed in cinema.
Press kit for Dario Argento's "Trauma" Part 1
Need to revisit this one. Just remember it being rather muted compared to the manic outbursts Argento delivered in the '80s.
